Montreal Canadiens News
- According to Pierre Lebrun, Andrei Markov’s agent Sergei Berezin doesn’t think the Habs and his camp are too far apart in contract negotiations, which should definitely be seen as good news.
- The Habs clinched a playoff spot last night, and will likely be the only Canadian team to do so this year. Canada’s hopes rely on Price, again.
- Pacioretty praised Thomas Vanek’s game play, describing him not only as a goal scorer, but “an incredible playmaker”.
- Darren Dreger was on the morning show on TSN 690 with Tony Marinaro. He spoke about Michel Therrien and Jon Cooper’s coaching results so far this year.
- During the Habs breakfast, Martin Lemay spoke about Carey Price’s chances of winning the Vezina trophy.
- Max Pacioretty took home the Molson Cup for February & March. It’s the second time Pacioretty won the monthly award, his first being way back in November.
- Your daily dose of inanity; P.K. Subban and Brendan Gallagher went head-to-head in a baseball home run derby.
- Douglas Murray is automatically suspended indefinitely after his head shot on Mike Kostka. You have to assume that Shanahan will suspend the Swedish defender. I don’t think it was intentional, but it was a clear head shot and it’s the exact type of hit we need to eliminate from hockey.
- Michel Therrien’s response to the question “Was there any reason Subban played only 17 minutes” was classic Mike.
