European Prospect Report: Lukas Vejdemo, Djurgården getting closer to the playoffs

Joonas Nättinen, JYP, Liiga

In two games, Nättinen did not score any points. However, with JYP winning both games, they have secured a spot in the playoffs. They might even get into the fourth seed, which would secure potential home-ice advantage until the semi-finals.

Arvid Henrikson, AIK U20, SuperElit

Henriksson played two games with AIK’s U20 team this weekend, but did not get on the scoresheet. The team is at the bottom of the standings and there are no playoff chances for the team this season.

It will be interesting to see if the defender can get another chance with the senior team when the U20 season ends.

Lukas Vejdemo, Djurgården, SHL

In their last six games, Djurgården has 11 points and have almost caught up to Luleå, a team that is struggling right now.

Djurgården are now one point from the final playoff spot. A few weeks ago, Vejdemo said they were going for the playoffs and coach Robert Ohlsson has the team playing well.

Some of that has been due to an increased work load for the Montreal prospect. Vejdemo has moved up to the second line and that has resulted in a visible confidence boost and more ice time.

Magnus Nygren, Färjestad, SHL

Färjestad’s captain scored the tying goal to make it 4-4 against Luleå. Färjestad ended up losing in OT, but the point they earned has solidified their playoff position.

Nygren then posted a great video where it looked like he was practicing for the Winter Classic.
