Eight Bulldogs recalled from Hamilton by the Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have called up eight players from the Hamilton Bulldogs, including a surprising choice to bring both Robert Mayer and Dustin Tokarski to Montreal.

Other call ups include defensemen Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi, and Greg Pateryn, along with forwards Michael Bournival, Louis Leblanc, and Petteri Nokelainen.

The call up for Leblanc is likely a breath of fresh air, as the 22 year old forward has been struggling in Hamilton all season, and could use a fresh start.

The most confusing choice though, is the call up of Nokelainen. Not only is Nokelainen not useful in an NHL role, but he was brought up over Danny Kristo, who’s certainly more of an impact player in every respect.

The called up players will remain in Hamilton until the end of the regular season, practicing with the Bulldogs coaching staff, and will join the Canadiens on April 28th.

These 8 will join Gabriel Dumont, Brendan Gallagher, and Michael Blunden as Bulldogs turned Habs this season.
