On a silver platter, he [Briere] was served a chance to cleanse his soul just a bit, asked whether there was anything he’d like to have changed in Montreal.

“To beat the Rangers in the third round,” he replied quickly, taking the high road that had been his only route in Montreal. “And to have the chance to play in the (Stanley Cup) final.”
