The Juniors Report
The Montreal Canadiens currently feature prospects playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Western Hockey League (WHL), the USHL (United States Hockey League) and the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). These leagues can be considered the primary conduit towards professional hockey in North America.
Here’s how the players in the aforementioned leagues performed last week:

Daniel Audette: There is going to be an unfortunate break in Audette’s season it appears, as he suffered an injury in his only game of the week versus the Rimouski Oceanic. An unfortunate collision with fellow Canadiens prospect Simon Bourque saw him leave the game with a shoulder injury, and current projections have him out for at least four weeks.
Hometown Hockey stopped in Sherbrooke, Quebec this past weekend, and Elliotte Friedman narrated a feature on the Phoenix forward.
Simon Bourque: It has been a productive week for the Rimouski Oceanic blue-liner after a slow start to his season. He marked an assist in his first game, a 5-3 loss to the Shawinigan Cataractes.
He picked up a goal and an assist in the next game, a 5-4 shootout win over the Sherbrooke Phoenix, then went scoreless in his final game, a 3-2 win over the Halifax Mooseheads. Bourque holds the defensive scoring lead for Rimouski with two goals and eight assists in 15 games.
Matt Bradley: While he has not had a very notable start, Bradley’s stick seems to be heating up of late with the Medicine Hat Tigers. He scored a goal in his first game of the week, a 6-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs.
He defined clutch in his next game, scoring the game-tying goal with one second left in the third period to force overtime in what was an eventual 6-5 shootout loss to the Red Deer Rebels. Bradley has scored a goal in each of his last three games.
Noah Juulsen: The scoresheet continues to elude Noah Juulsen after his explosive start with the Everett Silvertips. He went without a point in all three of his games this past week, a 3-2 shootout loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings, a 2-1 loss to the Portland Winterhawks followed up by a 2-1 victory in a rematch versus Portland. Juulsen has now gone five games without recording a point.
Jake Evans: While he has only played a few games so far this season, Evans is showing a good pace as a sophomore forward with the University of Notre Dame.
He went without a point in his first game, a 2-1 win over the University of Connecticut. He scored a goal and an assist in the following game, an 8-2 win over Connecticut. Evans currently has five points through six games.
Jeremiah Addison: The seventh-round selection in June’s draft is maintaining a level of consistency for the Ottawa 67’s. He went without a point in his first game, a 3-2 overtime loss to the North Bay Battalion. He marked a goal in the next game, a 5-2 loss to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
He doubled his production in his final game of the week, scoring two goals in a 6-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves. Addison has now scored six goals in his last eight games and is tied for second on Ottawa in goals with seven.
Nikolas Koberstein; It remains a quiet season for the rookie defender with University of Alaska-Fairbanks. He missed the scoresheet in his only game of the week, a 5-2 loss to Minnesota State University. He was scratched for the team’s following game on the weekend.
Hayden Hawkey: Hawkey finally saw his first turn in nets with the University of Providence this past week. His first bit of action was taking over in relief for starter Nick Ellis with about five-and-a-half minutes left in a dominant win for Providence that saw them top Colgate University 7-2.
He started for the team in the following game, stopping 24 of 27 shots in a 4-3 win over Colgate to help give Providence a weekend sweep.
Michael McNiven: It was a tough week for the Owen Sound Attack netminder. McNiven saw himself pulled in his first start after allowing four goals on 12 shots in less than 18 minutes of play versus the Erie Otters in what became a 7-3 loss for his team.
His next start did not fare much better, as he allowed three goals on 19 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Saginaw Spirit. He finished the week on a high note, however, stopping 32 of 33 shots in a 2-1 win over the Flint Firebirds. McNiven’s .920 save percentage ranks him fifth overall among OHL goalies.
