The Juniors Report
The Montreal Canadiens currently feature prospects playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Western Hockey League (WHL), the USHL (United States Hockey League) and the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association). These leagues can be considered the primary conduit towards professional hockey in North America.
Here’s how the players in the aforementioned leagues performed last week:

Jeremiah Addison: It was a rather slow start for the Ottawa 67’s forward this past week. He was scoreless in his first two games: a 5-1 loss to the Kitchener Rangers and a 7-2 loss to the London Knights. He capped the week off scoring his 12th goal of the season and adding an assist in a 5-4 loss to the Sarnia Sting.
Addison’s 12 goals have him tied for second on his team in the category.
Simon Bourque: It was a quiet week for the Rimouski Oceanic defender. He went scoreless in his first game, a 4-3 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes. He collected an assist in the next game, assisting on the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. He ended the week without a point in his final game, a 4-2 loss to the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Bourque currently holds the defensive scoring lead on Rimouski and is fourth overall in team scoring.
Matt Bradley: There was a spark of life in Bradley’s offensive output with the Medicine Hat Tigers this past week. He went without a point in his first game, a 6-0 shutout loss to the Vancouver Giants. He marked an assist in the next game, a 5-2 loss to the Kelowna Rockets. He notched a pair of assists for the first time this season in his final game of the week, a 5-4 win over the Kamloops Blazers which included a hand in the game-winning goal.
Noah Juulsen: The offensive slump continues for the Everett Silvertips blue-liner. Juulsen went scoreless in all three of his games this past week, a 4-1 loss to the Tri-City Americans, a 3-0 loss to the Prince George Cougars and a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Giants.
Juulsen has just one goal in his last 20 games and no points in his last six games. His 0.43 points per game pace is a notable drop from his previous season output of 0.76 points per game.
Jake Evans: The offensive output of the Notre Dame forward has slowed down from the torrid pace he was on just a few weeks before.
He marked an assist in his first game, a 3-1 win over the University of Massachusetts Amherst but went without a point in a 5-1 win in the rematch. Evans is currently third in his team in scoring with two goals and 12 assists over 16 games.
Nikolas Koberstein: There remains little to report on Koberstein’s freshman season with the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He went without a point in both of his team’s game this past weekend, a 4-2 loss to Lake Superior State University followed by a 2-0 loss to Lake Superior the following night. Koberstein is sitll without a point through 10 games this season.
Daniel Audette: After spending just over a month on the injured reverse with a shoulder injury, Audette returned to action with the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He marked an assist in his first game, a 2-1 loss to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. He matched that contribution in the following game, a 3-2 loss to the Gatineau Olympiques. He kept up the pace through his final game, marking an assist in a 5-3 loss to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
Despite his extended layoff, his three-point weekend has him holding down second place on his team’s scoring list with eight goals and 20 assists through 18 games played.
Hayden Hawkey: It remains a season of watching his team play from the bench for Hayden Hawkey with Providence College. He sat out both of his team’s games this past weekend. It has been difficult for Hawkey to break through for a start due to his senior in nets Nick Ellis being a third-year goalie with a .939 save percentage this season.
Michael McNiven: It was a tough week for McNiven, who has had a rough go in his last few starts with the Owen Sound Attack. He allowed two goals on 20 shots in his first game, a 2-1 overtime loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs. He stopped 29 of 31 shots in his next start, a 3-2 shootout loss to the Erie Otters. He had a rough ending to his week, surrending five goals on 28 shots in a 5-0 shutout loss to finish off a back to back series with Erie.
McNiven’s save percentage now stands at .912 on the season, ranking him eighth among OHL goalies.
