Carey Price to start in Toronto, Pacioretty not traveling

Apparently the Montreal Canadiens really want to secure the Atlantic Division title on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and they don’t trust Dustin Tokarski to do it. Carey Price will get the start for the Montreal Canadiens, who will face a Leafs team with nothing to play for, and who just called up veteran bruiser Colton Orr for a “send off”.

Considering the number of injuries Orr has inflicted on the Canadiens in recent years, this obviously has Habs fans a little shifty. You have to think that of any game this year, Saturday’s is one where the Habs have to protect their goaltender with constant vigilance.

The Canadiens also announced that Tom Gilbert is still day-to-day with an upper body injury and not practicing, but he will travel with the team to Toronto, while Max Pacioretty will stay home to recuperate from his “upper body” injury. Not traveling with the team is usually a bad sign for injured players, and with the playoffs less than a week away, you should probably expect Pacioretty to miss at least a couple of games.

The lines at practice were unchanged after the win over the Detroit Red Wings.
