Carey Price to start against Pittsburgh

It’s been a trying year for Montreal Canadiens fans, and the team itself, with a multitude of injuries and poor luck. There appears to be some good news however, as Carey Price will return to his starting role on Wednesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Price made his return to the roster on Monday night, serving as Antti Niemi’s back up against the Florida Panthers. Prior to that however, he had been sidelined due to a concussion that he suffered after taking a Shayne Gostisbehere shot to the head in late February.

In his absence, Niemi has performed more than admirably, rebounding from an absolutely horrid start to his year, and that should be celebrated just as much as Price’s return to health.

With less than 10 games remaining in the season and the Habs in the thick of the hunt for Rasmus Dahlin, it’s unclear how many games Price will play down the stretch, but knowing him he’d play every single one if he could.

It will also allow Price to go into the offseason or the World Championships without any uncertainty of his health.
