Montreal Canadiens Organizational Injury Report

Brendan Gallagher (RW, NHL) has missed the last week of action with two fractures in his left hand. If all goes well, he should be healed in about five weeks’ time.

Carey Price (G, NHL) has been sidelined once again after re-aggravating the right knee injury that kept him out for three weeks earlier in the season. He will be out until at least mid-January.

Alexander Semin (RW, NHL) is dealing with a lower-body injury. He practiced with the team on Wednesday and could be nearing a return.

Torrey Mitchell (C, NHL) suffered a lower-body injury against the Coyotes on November 19th when he fell to the ice awkwardly. He is currently on the Injured Reserve list.

Zack Kassian (RW, NHL) suffered a broken foot and nose in an early morning accident on October 4, and subsequently entered the NHL/NHLPA Substance Abuse and Behavioural Health Program. As a result he was suspended by the Montreal Canadiens and the duration of his leave from the team is undetermined.

Michael Bournival (LW, NHL) has been improving in his recovery from post-concussion symptoms. Wednesday he was placed on waivers by the team.

Nikita Scherbak (RW, AHL) returned from injury on November 13 after missing six games, only to be crushed by a massive hit that put him right back on the shelf. The nature of his injury has not been revealed, but head coach Sylvain Lefebvre is suggesting that Scherbak might be out for quite a while.

Jacob de la Rose (LW, AHL) was injured on November 7. No timetable for his recovery has been announced, but he is not currently travelling with the team. He has missed eight games.

Mark Barberio (D, AHL) blocked a shot in the third period of the game on November 27, and has not played since. His recovery is day-to-day.

Connor Crisp (LW, AHL) has missed the last 12 games for the IceCaps after being injured on October 30.

Markus Eisenschmid (C, AHL) was injured on November 13 after taking a hard hit in the first period, similar to Nikita Scherbak.

Ryan Johnston (D, AHL) has not played since the Red vs. White scrimmage on September 20th. He had back surgery and is out indefinitely. The average recovery time for his surgery (discectomy surgery on L5-S1 herniation) before physical exertion can begin is about four months.

Daniel Audette (C, QMJHL) suffered a separated shoulder on October 29th and was initially ruled out of action for about four weeks. He has missed 11 games for Sherbrooke so far but is slated to return tomorrow per his team.
