Hockey Outside of Montreal
- With the departure of Jaroslav Halak and his replacement Ryan Miller, Brian Elliott is now the number one goalie in St. Louis and it’s time that he steps up and runs with it. The young and promising Jake Allen will be backing up Elliott and might have a few things to say about Elliott being the number one by seasons end though. [NHL]
- The next week or so of NHL training camps will have a huge impact on junior hockey this year, especially for the World Junior Hockey Championship set for this Winter in Toronto and Montreal. Will players like Max Domi, Curtis Lazar, and Sam Reinhart be in the NHL or will they be back in juniors for one more year? Bob McKenzie gives us all the details. [TSN]
- Rumors are swirling in Toronto of the Maple Leafs nabbing the best free agent in the 2015 off-season, but it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere according to him. - Things are already not looking good for the Maple Leafs, new free agent addition David Booth has a fractured foot and will be out at least four weeks. Also, underachiever from last year David Clarkson got into a fight, lost, and sustained a broken orbital bone. Maybe he will get ticked off and get suspended 10 games again, there’s still time.
