The Montreal Canadiens make their pre-season debut on Monday night against the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre.

After not playing in the Red vs White scrimmage yesterday, Juraj Slafkovský, Alex Newhook, and Josh Anderson will be the line leaned on in Monday’s game.

Also playing will be a line of Joshua Roy, Owen Beck, and Jesse Ylönen. Mitchell Stephens will play with Michael Pezzetta and Sean Farrell. Lucas Condotta will play with Xavier Simoneau and newcomer Nathan Légaré.

The top pairing will be Kaiden Guhle and David Reinbacher, a true test for the young duo. Arber Xhekaj will play with Justin Barron while Logan Mailloux will play with Jordan Harris.

Samuel Montembeault and Jakub Dobeš will get the goaltending duties. If Dobeš enters the game, it will be his first professional action after not playing a game after joining the Laval Rocket last year.

The Devils have a split squad today, with a home game against the Philadelphia Flyers also on Monday night. Nico Hischier, Tomas Hertl, Dougie Hamilton, and Alexander Holtz are among the players staying in New Jersey for that game, and will not play against the Canadiens.
