It will be Tuukka Rask versus Carey Price at TD Garden tonight as the Bruins host the Canadiens. Both netminders are responding well after early-season struggles that saw the teams’ backups turned to starters for a brief period, but are once again the main men for their squads, leading the charge to a post-season berth.

Rask has the benefit of one of the league’s top defensive formations in front of him, though with Shea Weber back in the mix, Price’s hasn’t been too shabby, either. In the 22 games since the captain’s return, the Habs have given up more than three goals six times, and fewer than three in 13 of them. The change in defensive fortunes has allowed the Canadiens to remain in the hunt despite an offence that has gone cold.

Deploying the newly formed lines for their second game will hopefully yield some results for Montreal, both at 5-on-5 and perhaps even on the power play. It doesn’t matter how many goals you allow if you can’t score any yourself. With the last meeting of the regular season between these rivals, the players will all be eager to have the confidence from a win to carry them forward.
