The Montreal Canadiens finally admitted they were sellers at the trade deadline, moving on from Dale Weise, Tomas Fleischmann, and Devante Smith-Pelly. Even with Marc Bergevin claiming that the goal was still to make the playoffs this year, the direction seems mostly clear. But is it, as Bergevin asserted, “the right direction”?
