Canadiens recall Emil Heineman, place Tanner Pearson on IR

Arianne Bergeron / Arena du Rocket Inc.

Ahead of tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, we have some changes to the roster for the Montreal Canadiens. Tanner Pearson will be on the mend for some time, and has been placed on Injured Reserve, while taking his place will be Emil Heineman returning from the Laval Rocket.

Pearson was already expected to be out for around four to six weeks, so that bit of news is unsurprising. His eventual placement on IR was but a formality, and this just makes it official. The timetable for his return to play remains unchanged at this time.

Heineman, for his part, has been solid in limited action with the Laval Rocket, putting up a goal and three assists over seven games of action. No official word has been given as of yet, but it would stand to reason that he’ll suit up against the Penguins tonight.
