It’s been over a month since we’ve seen the last Montreal Canadiens game, but fear not, because the next season isn’t as far away as you might think. We have the NHL Awards next week, followed by the draft on the weekend, then free agency, development camp, the EOTP Habs Top 25 Under 25, rookie camp, training camp, and then 95 days from June 17th, we have the opening of preseason for the Habs.
Here’s the Canadiens’ preseason schedule:
DATE | AWAY | HOME | TIME | LOCATION | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
SEPT. 20, 2015 | RED | WHITE | TBD | BELL CENTRE – MONTREAL | |
SEPT. 22, 2015 | MAPLE LEAFS | CANADIENS | 7:30 P.M. | BELL CENTRE – MONTREAL | |
SEPT. 24, 2015 | CAPITALS | CANADIENS | 7:30 P.M. | BELL CENTRE – MONTREAL | |
SEPT. 25, 2015 | BLACKHAWKS | CANADIENS | 7:30 P.M. | BELL CENTRE – MONTREAL | |
SEPT. 26, 2015 | CANADIENS | MAPLE LEAFS | 7:30 P.M. | AIR CANADA CENTRE – TORONTO | |
SEPT. 28, 2015 | PENGUINS | CANADIENS | 7:00 P.M. | VIDEOTRON CENTRE – QUEBEC | |
OCT. 1, 2015 | SENATORS | CANADIENS | 7:30 P.M. | BELL CENTRE – MONTREAL | |
OCT. 3, 2015 | CANADIENS | SENATORS | 7:00 P.M. | CANADIAN TIRE CENTRE, OTTAWA |
Unlike most preseasons, there’s no matchup with the Boston Bruins in there, but the Habs do get to host the Stanley Cup champions on September 25th, and open the new Videotron Centre in Quebec City against the Penguins.
Two matchups each against the Maple Leafs and Senators is also interesting, though hopefully the Sens can hold off trying to injure the Habs’ star players like they attempted last year in preseason.
