There have been some changes since the last game the Canadiens played. Keith Kinkaid’s spot on the roster has been handed to Cayden Primeau, who is up from the AHL. Joining the young netminder on the trip from Laval was Matthew Peca, who steps into the lineup right away, bumping Charles Hudon to the press box.

After a rough night on Sunday versus the Boston Bruins, Nick Cousins stays in looking to get some redemption and play his part in snapping an eight-game losing streak. He’s seeking his first point in 11 games after a strong start to his Canadiens tenure.

Montreal faces on of the most effective goaltenders in the league tonight, as well as a club that likes to play a relentless forechecking game. Frustration is due to mount if the physical play limits the Habs’ ability to rush up the ice and the netminder stops them when they do, especially given how desperate they are for a win. The goal will therefore be to get out to a quick start and give themselves a boost, perhaps with an early goal from Joel Armia for a third consecutive game.
