  • The St. Louis Blues have announced that two of their superstars, David Backes and T.J. Oshie, will be out of the lineup indefinitely due to concussions. Coming into the season the Blues were picked by many NHL analysts to be one of the team’s to beat in the West, but a subpar 4-3-1 start to the season has left a lot of people surprised.   • The talk of the league right now is the “Kid Line” out in LA. The Kings have actually been playing pretty pathetically offensively to start the season, but this one line is masking all of their problems, including the injury to superstar Anze Kopitar. [NHL]
  • Vancouver Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller earned his 300th career victory on Tuesday night and discussed what that means to him. Miller, who is in his first year with the Canucks, played his entire career in Buffalo with the Sabres until being traded to the St. Louis Blues at the trade deadline last year. He has been one of the most consistent and well respected goalies in the last ten years and won the Vezina Trophy and the Silver Medal in the Vancouver Olympic games in 2010 for the United States.   • Edmonton Oilers‘ goaltender Ben Scrivens has recently unveiled his new mask which was custom made to raise awareness for mental health issues. The journeyman goaltender and his wife, who have found a new home in Edmonton, are known throughout the league as a family who strive to give back to the community. [USA Today]
