Bulldogs Player of the Week: Davis Drewiske
Despite not being known for his offensive prowess, Davis Drewiske the veteran defenseman has put together a career season. With Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi, and Greg Pateryn called up and Magnus Nygren injured, the Bulldogs turned to Drewiske for offense. The former LA King responded by grabbing four points, all assists in three games this week.
In a 4-1 win Drewiske grabbed a pair of assists, first setting up Nick Sorkin’s seventh goal of the year before assisting on Jake Dowell’s empty net goal. On Friday against Grand Rapids he would grab primary assists on Drayson Bowman’s ninth goal and Morgan Ellis’s first goal of the year. Drewiske now sits seventh in scoring for Hamilton and leads all defensemen in points.

Charles Hudon: After lighting up the scoreboard last week, Hudon had a quiet weekend for Hamilton. The rookie forward registered just one assist in three games played. Hudon is tied for seventh overall in AHL scoring and continues to lead all rookies in scoring.
Gabriel Dumont: The Bulldogs captain continues to consistently produce with Hamilton this season. Dumont notched a pair of assists this week to give him thirty five points on the year.
Sven Andrighetto: Following a four-point effort against Utica Andrighetto was held to just a single goal this weekend.
Daniel Carr: For the first time in a long time, Carr was held without a goal. The rookie forward was held to just a single assist on the week.
Drayson Bowman: After a small slump, it would appear that Dr. Dray has found his game again. The AHL vet grabbed a goal and an assist this week in three games played
Christian Thomas: The speedy winger is still on recall with the Canadiens.
Darren Dietz: The sophomore blueliner continues to post solid scoring numbers after a rough rookie season. Dietz grabbed a single assist in three games played.
Greg Pateryn: The Bulldogs utility defenseman has be called up to Montreal where he is playing with Jarred Tinordi on the third pairing.
Magnus Nygren: Unfortunately Nygren has returned home to Sweden to continue recovering from a concussion.
Mac Bennett: The former Michigan Wolverine once again failed to record a point this week .
Jacob de la Rose: The young Swede is currently on recall with the Canadiens.
Eric Tangradi: A small injury limited Tangradi to just one game this week where he failed to register a point
Jarred Tinordi: The mammoth defenseman has been called up to Montreal where he registered two fights in two games.
Connor Crisp: The hard-nosed forward played in two games this week but failed to record a point.
Bryan Allen: The veteran defenseman was held pointless in three games played this week.
Jack Nevins: The resident enforcer is listed as day-to-day after missing a month with an injury.
Morgan Ellis: After finally being recalled from Wheeling Ellis made the most of the chance. He recorded his first AHL goal of the year in a 3-2 OT loss to Grand Rapids.
Dalton Thrower: It continues to be a disappointing rookie season for Dalton Thrower. He recorded zero points this week.
Mike Condon: The rookie netminder played just one game this week after handling the majority of the starts. Condon’s only start was a 2-0 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins where he recorded twenty eight saves.
Joey MacDonald: The Bulldogs backup goalie started two games this week going winning one and losing the other. Despite the loss MacDonald recorded a .941 SV % and a 1.90 GAA, easily his best stat line as a Bulldog.

The Bulldogs’ record currently stands at 26-20-7 which gives them 59 points overall. This places them second overall in the AHL’s North Division and ninth in the Western Conference. Hamilton will be back in action on Tuesday February 24 against the Utica Comets before hosting the Charlotte Checkers on Friday and Saturday.
