Bulldogs Player of the Week: Darren Dietz
After an injury riddled and disappointing rookie season Darren Dietz is putting together a solid sophomore campaign.
Dietz started the week with an assist on T.J. Hensick’s game winning goal against Iowa on Friday. He then followed that up with an assist on Drayson Bowman’s eighth goal of the year on Saturday, before scoring the game winning goal late in the third period. Dietz now sits second in defencemen scoring for the Bulldogs, with thirteen points, trailing only Davis Drewiske who has fifteen.

Charles Hudon: The Bulldogs star rookie continued his quiet second half with a lone assist on the week. He nabbed the primary assist on T.J. Hensicks eleventh goal of the year, against Iowa.
Sven Andrighetto: Much like Hudon, Andrighetto hasn’t been very productive of late. The Swiss forward notched just one assist on the week.
Gabriel Dumont: After two phenomenal weeks in Hamilton the captain was called up to Montreal, where he played in one game and registered no points.
Daniel Carr: For the first time in weeks Carr was held off the scoresheet for the Bulldogs.
Drayson Bowman: The veteran forward collected three points in two games with a pair of assists and a goal. Bowman set up Hensick’s game winning goal on Friday night, and also collected a helper on Eric Tangradi’s third of the year. He registered his eighth goal of the year to opening the scoring on Saturday for the Bulldogs.
Christian Thomas: The young forward continues to be a puck possession beast for the Canadiens averaging 60% CF in the six games he’s played in Montreal this year. Thomas is currently playing third line minutes alongside Jiri Sekac and Lars Eller.
Davis Drewiske: The surprising offensive season for Drewiske continues, as the veteran defencemen collected an assist on Eric Tangradi’s empty net goal.
Greg Pateryn: The Bulldogs go to offensive defencemen posted no points in two games played.
Magnus Nygren: Unfortunately Nygren has returned home to Sweden to continue recovering from a concussion.
Mac Bennett: The rookie blueliner went pointless in two games against Iowa this weekend.
Jacob de la Rose: The Swedish forward continues to put together a fantastic second half of the year with another two points this weekend. De la Rose scored the game tying goal against Iowa on Saturday before setting up Darren Dietz’s game winner less than two minutes later. Due to his strong play as of late the rookie forward was call up by the Canadiens on Monday.
Eric Tangradi: After sitting out close to a month Tangradi came back and posted a three point game against the Wild on Saturday. He registered assists on the game tying and game winning goals before adding an empty net insurance goal.
Jarred Tinordi: After missing last weekend’s game with an illness, Tinordi stepped into the lineup on Saturday and collected his sixth assist of the year.
Connor Crisp: The rookie forward is still nursing an injury sustained against Lake Erie.
Bryan Allen: The former first round draft pick has yet to find the scoresheet for Hamilton and collected two PIMs this weekend.
Jack Nevins: The resident enforcer is likely to miss the next two to three weeks with an injury sustained against Grand Rapids.
Morgan Ellis: Why Ellis is still in the ECHL at this point is beyond me, the blueliner registered two more goals this week giving him twelve on the year. Ellis’s stat line for January is beyond impressive: Nine goals and four assists in the fourteen games played.
Dalton Thrower: Since his return from suspension Dalton Thrower has yet to register any points for the ECHL’s Brampton Beast.
Mike Condon: While Hudon is deservedly getting praise for his great rookie campaign Condon has slipped under the radar. In his lone start this weekend he would post thirty seven saves with a 1.00 GAA and .974 SV%. Condon now ranks ninth in the AHL in GAA and second in Save Percentage.
Joey MacDonald: The veteran netminder notched his seventh win of the season in a 5-3 come from behind win against Iowa.

The Bulldogs record currently stands at 22-17-6 giving them 50 points on the season. This places them third in the North Division and tied for eighth in the Western Conference with the Chicago Wolves. The team is back in action on February 6th as they take on the Iowa Wild at home before travelling to Cleveland to face the Lake Erie Monsters.
