What better way to kick off the preseason than a meeting between the best rivalry in sports? The Boston Bruins are in town tonight, to face the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.
Both lineups are lacking firepower, as both teams have iced a relatively weak lineup, without many veterans.
On the Boston Bruins side of the coin we’ll see David Krejci, Loui Eriksson, Dennis Seidenberg and Johnny Boychuk as familiar names. Malcom Subban is set to play at least half the game for the Bruins.
The Habs on the other hand will rely heavily on veterans Tomas Plekanec, Rene Bourque, Andrei Markov and Tom Gilbert. Dustin Tokarski and Joey MacDonald will be tasked with keeping the puck out of the Habs net.
As for the rookies, we’ll see an interesting mix of players fighting for a roster spot, including newly signed free agent Jiri Sekac, 2014 first-round pick Nikita Scherbak, and talented young players Jacob de la Rose & Charles Hudon. Sven Andrighetto will also see some ice time, however he’s currently projected to play a 4th line role.
Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST, at the Bell Centre.
The game will be carried by on TV by RDS.
