Brian Flynn to miss six to eight weeks, Beaulieu day-to-day

Earlier tonight, the Canadiens saw Brian Flynn and Nathan Beaulieu both go down on the same penalty kill sequence. It didn’t look good for either of them, but Flynn certainly looked worse off than his teammate. Sure enough, the Canadiens confirmed after the game that this was the case.

With Flynn set to miss some significant time, this all but guarantees that a player will have to be recalled from the St. John’s IceCaps. The logical candidates at this point seem to be one of Charles Hudon or Bud Holloway, but we’ll possibly have to wait until after tomorrow’s IceCaps game to find out.

Hopefully Nathan Beaulieu is back to action soon, but they do have a suitable replacement already with the team in Greg Pateryn. If they decide to bring up reinforcements anyways, the likely candidate from the farm would probably be the recently acquired Victor Bartley.

In any case, the injury woes of this year’s Habs seem to be very unwilling to go away.
