The Montreal Canadiens have reassigned Brett Lernout, Michael McCarron, and Kerby Rychel to the Laval Rocket

After the Montreal Canadiens’ season came to an end last night, the team has returned forwards Michael McCarron and Kerby Rychel along with defenceman Brett Lernout to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

The Rocket can’t make the post-season, but these players will get two more games to make their final impressions in what has been a difficult season for all teams in the organization. With a 10th consecutive defeat last night, the Rocket rank 30th and last in the AHL with just 58 points in 74 games.

With the organization prepared to make adjustments ahead of next season, it’s unclear whether Rychel will be with the club next season after he was brought in at the trade deadline. Michael McCarron is also due for a contract extension as his entry-level deal comes to a close this summer. Lernout has one year remaining on his contract.
