Brendan Gallagher, Carey Price, and Tom Gilbert will join the team for Winter Classic festivities

The Montreal Canadiens have decided to include all their players in the Winter Classic festivities, even if they are injured. After long-term injuries sidelined Carey Price and Brendan Gallagher in November, and a lower-body injury of an undetermined prognosis sidelined Tom Gilbert before Christmas, the three players will be joining the Canadiens in Boston later tonight.

While this does not mean that they will play, the news is positive on the Gallagher front. He is the only one of the three expected to skate with the team when they take to the ice tomorrow at Gillette Stadium for practice. There is the chance he will be able to play. Gallagher did skate by himself this morning at the Canadiens practice facility in Brossard as he continues to rehab from a broken hand. There is no definitive return date for him yet.

The latest update on Price came from Marc Bergevin when he spoke to the media prior to the Canadiens game against the Tampa Bay Lightning where he said Price was on schedule. That should put his return to the team around the end of January or beginning of February.
