After sitting out three straight straight games following the Canadiens‘ only loss of the season, Nathan Beaulieu has been sent to Hamilton alongside Michael Bournival, who hasn’t seen a game of NHL action yet this year.
It’s obviously the right move to get both of these two playing, and they are both expected to rejoin the Canadiens on Sunday when the Habs travel to Edmonton.
That neither Beaulieu or Bournival are playing right now is sort of surprising, since both are clearly among the top 18 skaters on the team. However Michel Therrien seems very happy with the play of Travis Moen, which has seemed underwhelming at best thus far, and it seems like the only spot open for Beaulieu is currently being filled by Jarred Tinordi, who is playing phenomenally well.
What also seems clear from this decision is that Jiri Sekac, who sat out Tuesday night’s game against Detroit with an apparent injury that the Canadiens wouldn’t talk about, isn’t that hurt, because I doubt the Habs would risk the possibility of being shorthanded against New York on Saturday night.
