Highlights from Artturi Lehkonen’s three-point night in the CHL

It’s been a strong start to the season for Artturi Lehkonen, earning three points in his first two CHL games. He followed up his great debut by scoring three points yesterday for Frolunda in Champions Hockey League group stage action, versus the Sheffield Steelers. His tally for the night included two assists, and the game-winning goal.

His first assist came with 3:28 left to play in the first period, during the power play.

Next came his goal, which ended up being the game winner. It took place during an even-strength scenario, a little over five minutes into the third period.

He topped off the night by earning another assist, once again on the power play, during a 4 vs 3 situation.

It appears as if the benefit of having a full pre-season has had an impact on the young Finn, and now that his health issues are in the past, he seems poised to have a breakthrough season. Time will tell, and of course the level of play in the CHL isn’t always very high, particularly in this circumstance, but it’s encouraging to see him start the year off on the right foot.
