Montreal PWHL continues to get business done as training camps open across the league. Forwards Ann-Sophie Bettez and Sarah Bujold signed one-year contracts, the team announced on Wednesday.
She is one of the best club players in women’s hockey history. She finished second all-time in CWHL scoring, behind only Hockey Hall of Famer Caroline Ouellette. She had 119 goals and 146 assists in 170 career games. She was the CWHL’s leading scorer and MVP in the 2013-14 season.
Last year in the PHF, she had 11 goals and 11 assists in 23 games. She also had an unbelievable career at McGill University.
She was drafted in the 14th round, 79th overall in the 2023 PWHL Draft.
The 27-year-old is from Riverview, New Brunswick and spent last season with the Metropolitan Riveters in the PHF. She had 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 games. Prior to that she spent three years in the SDHL, Sweden’s women’s league, and had 47 goals and 38 assists for 85 points.
She spent her college career in Canadian USports with St. Francis Xavier, where she put up 62 goals and 51 assists (113 points) in 121 games.
They are the ninth and tenth players to officially sign, but GM Danièle Sauvageau said other signings are completed but in the queue to be announced by the league.
