An Introspective Analysis And Comparison of Montreal Talent Versus Detroit And Pittsburgh

Aaarwpit_medium

As a Canadiens fan, it isn’t difficult to notice how superior the Red Wings and Penguins team are to the Canadiens. It’s almost enough to make a die hard fan despondant.

Nowhere in sight on the Montreal roster, are the likes of Malkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom…

It makes one wonder what the Canadiens would need to do to achieve the same status as these two great teams. I mean, we have Carey Price to build around and one of the five best D – men in the league in Andrei Markov, a sniper in the making with Andrei Kostitsyn, should maturity greet him, and a bunch of somewhat promising kids who may just gel into a cohesive team under Jacques Martin.

What the entry draft and July 1 will bring is anybody’s guess!

It’s a pretty bleak outlook, as summer awaits. I’ve driven around town, looking for Habs flags on cars, and there is still a few left.

I began to have the notion that an in depth analysis of all Montreal talent would be necessary, if for no other reason that to find out just what Montreal has that teams such as Detroit and Pittsburgh would envy. I didn’t know if I was up to it or not, but I hit upon some interesting points.
