Alain is a 6’2” overage player for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. As team captain, he has put up some significant numbers this season, 44 goals and 87 points in 65 games, while playing alongside QMJHL leading scorer Alex Barré-Boulet. Alain finished third in regular season league scoring, but is dominating the playoffs, leading the QMJHL in points (19) and goals (11).
If Alain’s name sounds familiar to you, it’s because he attended the Canadiens summer development camp and the subsequent rookie camp on a tryout basis. Out of all the tryouts, Alain appeared to be the most impressive, but only Jordan Boucher received a professional contract (an AHL one) at the end of the day, while Alain returned to the QMJHL for one final season.

Before attending Canadiens camp in 2017, he attended Tampa Bay’s rookie camp in 2016 and the Anaheim Ducks’ in 2015.
Alain’s contract is the 33rd on the books for next season, with a flurry of restricted free agents and unrestricted free agents to be parsed by General Manager Marc Bergevin in the coming offseason. Alain is the second undrafted free agent to sign for next season, following Hayden Verbeek.
