Marc Bergevin has made his first move of the day by acquiring George Parros in exchange for a 7th round pick in 2014 and Philippe Lefebvre, undoubtedly looking to improve Montreal’s toughness factor.
Parros was the resident face puncher last year in Florida. He had 53 hits and served 57 penalty minutes, while averaging a little over six and half minutes per game.
Parros, 33, notched two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in 39 games with the Florida Panthers in 2012-13.
He is scheduled to make $937,500 this year, and will be a UFA at the end of the season.
