2024 World Junior Hockey Championship schedule: January 2, 2024

Quarterfinals

6:00 AM ET: Finland vs Slovakia

This may be one of the more interesting matchups on Tuesday. You have Finland, who lost to a team in the relegation game, but who beat Sweden in their final round robin game. Then you have Slovakia, a team that rolled through their first three games and then allowed 10 goals to the United States in their final round robin game. Either team that loses this game will consider the tournament a disappointment. The game will be on TSN 3/4/5 and RDS2 in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

8:30 AM ET: Czechia vs Canada

This will be another tricky quarterfinal for Canada. A lot changes in a year, especially at the World Juniors, but this is a Czechia team that beat Canada in the round robin and forced them to overtime in the gold medal game. Czechia played the United States incredibly tough, and will very likely do the game against Canada. Czechia had lower expectations for this tournament but not playing for a medal would be a disappointment. If Canada loses, it will be an even more bitter pill to swallow. The game will be on TSN 1/3/4 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

11:00 AM ET: Latvia vs United States

Latvia has played the top teams tough, but this will be a different battle. The United States have really stepped it up after what had to be considered a disappointing result against Norway. They have put goaltenders under siege, and it will be a win for Latvia to keep it close, to be honest. The game will be on TSN 1/4/5 and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

1:30 PM ET: Switzerland vs Sweden

Sweden has had a very successful tournament so far, despite a shootout loss to Finland in the final round robin game. Winning the group gave them a beneficial matchup compared to the other teams in Group A. Switzerland won the game they needed to in order to get to the quarterfinals, but they will be in tough against the tournament’s host. The game will be on TSN and RDS in Canada and NHL Network in the US.

All games shown on TSN will be streamed on TSN+ in Canada, but it requires a subscription.
