The Florida Panthers needed saving as the clock wound down at the end of Game 3, trailing by a goal. As it often has been this spring, it was Matthew Tkachuk who came through with a tying goal in the final minutes. Once it got to overtime, the odds were in Florida’s favour, and they maintained their perfect record in sudden death this post-season with a winning goal from Carter Verhaeghe.
From being on the verge of a 0-3 hole to now a home win away from a tied series, that result was a critical one for the Panthers, and will be regarded as what helped them turn the tide if they go on to win the Stanley Cup. However, Las Vegas is still in the driver’s seat in the Final, and can put the Panthers in peril with another victory this evening.
