World Hockey Championship schedule: May 10

The World Championships have four games on tap today in Russia.

Group A Preliminary Games

9:15 AM ET: Switzerland vs Denmark

The bottom five teams in group A, including Switzerland and Denmark, are separated right now by a point which means every game these teams have against each other are huge. One game could be the difference between playing in the quarterfinal and being relegated. Denmark is coming off of a tough loss to Sweden after beating Norway in regulation, while Switzerland has lost twice in overtime to Kazakhstan and Norway. The game will be shown on TSN4 in Canada

1:15 PM ET: Kazakhstan vs Norway

Kazakhstan and Norway are also among those bottom five teams in Group A. Kazakhstan almost beat Russia after beating Switzerland in a shootout and are led by two former Habs in Nigel Dawes and Dustin Boyd. Norway, led by Mats Zuccarello of the New York Rangers are coming off of two solid performances against Denmark and Switzerland but only have an overtime win to show for it. The game will be shown on TSN 1/3 in Canada

Group B Preliminary Games

9:15 AM ET: Slovakia vs Germany

Slovakia, who is 2-0 with two regulation wins against France and Hungary, can put themselves in a very solid spot for the medal round with another win today. Canadiens prospect Martin Reway currently leads all Slovakian forwards in ice time despite the fact that he is still looking for his first point of the tournament. Marko Dano, of the Winnipeg Jets, left the last game early and would be a huge loss for them. Dano and Reway had been playing on the same line. Germany, co-hosting next year’s tournament with France, doesn’t have to worry about relegation but would like to put points up. They have lost to France in a shootout and lost to Finland in regulation. The game will be shown on TSN1/3 in Canada

1:15 PM ET: Hungary vs France

Hungary has been dealt a rough hand, having to start the tournament against Slovakia and Canada, but are essentially playing for their Top Division lives today. Their games against France, Germany and Belarus is essentially their medal round going forward. France, led by former Habs goaltender Cristobal Huet and Habs AHL forward Tim Bozon have a chance to sneak through to the medal round. They are just a point behind the USA with a game in hand for the fourth quarterfinal spot in Group B. The game will be shown on TSN4 in Canada

All games will be streamed here (subject to geo-blocking). TSN Go will be streaming all of the games as well in Canada.
