World Hockey Championship bronze and gold medal game schedule

Two very good matchups on tap today as the medals will be handed out.

Bronze Medal Game

9:15 AM ET: USA vs Russia

This is the ultimate trap game for the bronze medal. You have one team, Russia, who will be sorely disappointed in not being in the final on home ice. This is a team that wanted gold and will have to settle for the early game on Sunday. On the other hand, there aren’t many people who would have thought this USA team would have a chance to defend their bronze medal. They almost beat Canada and have improved as the tournament went on. If the bronze medal is decided by which team is happiest to be here, bet on the Americans. The game will be shown on TSN1/3/4/5 in Canada.

Gold Medal Game

1:45 PM ET: Finland vs Canada

This is a rematch of both teams final round robin game that Finland dominated. Canada is entering this game as the significant underdog, but they are a proud group and will not take kindly to being soundly beaten by the Finns twice. I would expect this game to be closer as Canada tries to defend their gold medal. Finland is looking to become the first country to ever win the U-18, U-20 and men’s world championship in the same year. The future and present of Finnish hockey is very bright and they will deserve full marks if they end up going through this tournament undefeated. The game will be shown on TSN1/3/4/5 in Canada.

All games will be streamed here (subject to geo-blocking). TSN Go will be streaming all of the games as well in Canada.
