United States vs Finland
Kicking off the action in Group A will be two powerhouses in Team USA and Finland at 3 PM EST / 12PM PST. It’s rare to see such a top end match-up on the opening day of the tournament so this is easily in “must watch” territory. The Americans are looking to rebound after a 5th place finish and the Finnish are looking to defend their gold medal. The game will be broadcast on TSN 4 and 5 in Canada as well as NHL Network in the United States.
Slovakia vs Canada
The other giant of Group A in Team Canada will start their march to another gold medal against Slovakia at 8PM EST / 5PM PST. Canada will be hungry to earn a medal on home turf after failing to medal in the 2014 tournament, while Slovakia will look to do better than eighth place. TSN will air the game in Canada while NHL Network will carry it in the United States.

Group B Preliminary Games
Russia vs Denmark
Last years bronze medal winners in Russia open the tournament against the new qualifiers in Denmark at 1PM EST / 10AM PST. TSN 3 in Canada will be the only place to catch the opening match-up for the 2015 tournament.
Sweden vs Czech Republic
Perennial powerhouse Sweden will look to make it to the gold medal game for the fourth straight year and start their tournament against the upstart Czechs at 5PM EST / 2PM PST. Sweden is looking for their second gold medal since 2012 and the Czechs will look to build on a sixth place finish in 2014. You can catch all the action on TSN 3 in Canada.
