Montreal-area students: Do you want to work in hockey analytics?

The McGill Martlet hockey program is looking for a current student to join its Video & Analytics department

Derek Drummond

Are you a current CEGEP or university student living in the Montreal area who would like to learn more about practical applications of hockey analytics?

The McGill Martlets are currently searching for a person between the age of 17 and 21 to join their coaching staff in an entry-level role.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

- Tracking and compiling advanced statistics during home and away games

- Using video analysis software to organize noteworthy in-game events

- Analyzing in-house data to provide actionable insights to the coaching staff

Job Requirements

- Experience or existing knowledge about advanced statistics is optional, however a strong interest in hockey analytics is a must.

- Must be a current CEGEP or University student residing in the Montreal area.

- Must be available to attend Martlets home games (usually Friday nights or weekend afternoons) and occasionally travel to Ottawa on the team bus.

- High-level hockey playing experience is optional. Current competitive athletes in other sports will also receive consideration.

Note that this is a paid, part-time position for the 2016-17 hockey season, with a possibility to begin work during the 2015-16 playoffs (February-March 2016).
