It was a special night in Montreal as long time captain and fan favourite Saku Koivu was honoured by the Montreal Canadiens. A short tribute aired before Koivu took the ice as players, coaches and even random fans paid their respects to #11. Following that the fans serenaded Saku with a five minute standing ovation that brought Koivu to the verge of tears. And if you weren't already crying at this point Koivu's speech is one of the best in recent memories. Thanking the fans, former management and the doctors who helped him overcome cancer during his career. To cap off the ceremony Koivu's former teammates Andrei Markov,Tomas Plekanec,Carey Price and Max Pacioretty unveiled a brilliant painting showcasing the biggest moments of Koivu's hockey career.

"I'll always be a Hab at my heart" said Koivu tonight and he'll always remain in the hearts of Habs fans everywhere.

Many thanks for Chris Abraham who let us use his video that captured tonight's tribute to Koivu.
