The Montreal Canadiens have bought out Tomas Kaberle, and they didn’t even think it was important enough to do a press release:
Canadiens announced today that they have use compliance buyout on Tomas Kaberle’s contract (valid until the end of the 2013-14 season).

It comes as no surprise that Kaberle has been bought out. Even though he is still a useful player if used properly, the Canadiens were going to get no trade offers when every team knows they could get Kaberle for cheap if they wait a week for a buyout to be used.
Kaberle could still be of use for a lot of teams lacking offensive depth from the blueline, so I expect him to get another NHL job. Also working in his favour is how well he took being a healthy scratch 43 times last season. Not once did we hear a complaint from Kaberle in 2013 about ice time or usage, in a city where every complaint seems to get out.
You may not like Kaberle because he’s a risk defensively, but I think he’s a good guy and it showed this year. Good luck for the rest of your career, Tomas.
