The Habs poach Stéphane Waite from the Blackhawks

Bergevin has found the man he hopes can help Carey Price turn his game around.

Waite, who has spent the last 10 years in Chicago, has won the Stanley Cup twice during his tenure with the Blackhawks, helping goalies such as Ray Emery, Antti Niemi and Corey Crawford perfect their game.

Montreal has been looking for a goalie coach since firing Pierre Groulx earlier in the year, and the word on the street was that Bergevin was doing all he could to convince Waite to join the Canadiens coaching staff.

What can we expect from Waite? Time will tell, but roughly 10 years ago Waite told the Chicago media that he was trilingual: “French, English, and the goalie language.”

He is scheduled to talk to the media in Brossard at 2 pm.

Update: Waite was signed to a 3 year deal as per Marc-Antoine Godin of La Presse
