Nick Suzuki and Josh Brook named to Team Canada’s World Junior camp

Two Montreal Canadiens prospects were named to Team Canada’s World Junior selection camp roster for the 2019 World Juniors to take place in Victoria, British Columbia. Stephane Leroux was the first with the details.

Nick Suzuki was the centrepiece of the Max Pacioretty trade with the Vegas Golden Knights. Suzuki took part in NHL training camp before being sent back to the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack where he is the captain. In 27 games, he has 20 goals and 21 assists. Suzuki was selected 13th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Josh Brook was the team’s second round pick, 56th overall in 2017. He plays for Team Canada head coach Tim Hunter with the Moose Jaw Warriors. In 21 games this season, he has eight goals and 21 assists. The eight goals ties a career high. He was invited to the Summer Showcase, but did not compete due to injury. He was a revelation at the Canadiens’ NHL camp and earned a pre-season game before being sent to junior.
