Hockey Canada has revealed its roster for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Nick Suzuki is one of the 25 players who have been named to the Men’s National Team.

There had been a lot of debate about Nick Suzuki making Team Canada given how well he has produced over the past couple of seasons. He completed the 2024-25 campaign with 89 points, and is on pace to beat that this season. He currently leads the Montreal Canadiens with 44 points, ranking 17th in the NHL.

Suzuki won’t be a top option on the team, but will be a trusted player to go up against the talented depth of the other nations in the tournament. His play at both ends of the ice earned him this spot, and could help Canada win its bottom-six minutes and help out on the penalty kill.

The Canadiens’ captain had played for Team Canada before, winning gold at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and participating in the 2019 World Juniors. This will be his first time representing Canada at the senior level.

We now wait to find out the other members of the Canadiens who have been selected to their national teams. Juraj Slafkovský was already named to Team Slovakia, while Alexandre Texier will be the only NHL player on Team France. Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson have outside chances of being named to Team USA’s roster on Friday morning. Oliver Kapanen’s and Patrik Laine’s finishing talent gives them a shot to make Finland’s roster, and Czechia will at least have had a conversation about including Jakub Dobeš.

The men’s hockey tournament at Milano Cortino 2026 will run from Wednesday, February 11 to Sunday, February 22, with the Gold Medal Game falling on the final day of competition.
