Both the Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars needed a Game 7 in the opening round to make it to the division final. The Jets, who are in Dallas trailing 3-2, are hoping this series requires one as well.
To get that showdown on home ice, Winnipeg needs to do something it hasn’t managed so far this post-season: win on the road. It shouldn’t be such a difficult subject for a team that was 26-15 outside of Manitoba in the regular season, and yet the Jets are 0-5 in hostile territory this post-season.
All eyes are of course on Connor Hellebuyck, but he did well enough in Game 4 to give his team a shot. The Jets also need to find a way to do better than the 1.60 goals per game they’ve produced away from home (compared to 3.71 at Canada Life Centre) to have a shot at extending their season.
