Once again, the Oilers had full control of the opening period in Game 3, getting out to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes, But the Stars flew out of the gate in the second, temporarily held a 3-2 lead, then needed just one shot of the three they managed in the third period to go their way to seal the win. The lack of consistency has cost Edmonton the last two games, and a third such effort would put them on the brink of elimination.
