Since he was recalled the 21-year-old forward tallied just one goal, against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and was most recently a healthy scratch against Detroit. Overall this season, McCarron has appeared in fifteen games, scoring one goal and addingthree assists. In 21 games in the AHL he has four goals and eight assists.
His presence will be warmly received on an IceCaps team that has been without many of their star players for the course of this season due to injuries. McCarron will likely step into the spot left by Jacob de la Rose on the top line, and will be a welcome sight on the power play. His older brother John is currently on a tryout deal with the IceCaps, meaning we may have the chance to see the duo play together this upcoming week.
