Shea Weber doubtful to return until after the All Star break

Montreal Canadiens head coach Claude Julien confirmed on Wednesday that he does not expect to see Shea Weber back before the All-Star Game which happens on January 28th.

Weber has been reportedly dealing with a foot injury since the first game of the season against the Buffalo Sabres, playing 26 games before the Canadiens decided to shut him down on December 18th. Currently he’s wearing a walking boot.

Weber’s last game was the NHL100 Classic outdoor game. He did miss games earlier in the year before deciding to come back.

In 26 games, Weber scored six goals and added 10 assists this season, and averaging over 25 minutes of ice time per game.

The Canadiens first game after the all-star break is against the St. Louis Blues on January 30th. That could potentially mean Weber would miss 16 consecutive games.
