So there you have it, Rick Dudley won’t be the next general manager of the Buffalo Sabres, because the Montreal Canadiens offered him more money to stay in the fold.
Clearly Marc Bergevin values Dudley’s work as assistant GM, and clearly Dudley is happy where he is if he’s refusing a promotion to the top job in another organization.
Dudley was viewed by many to be the most likely candidate for the Buffalo job, so this news comes as a bit of a surprise.
