Report: Habs are listening to offers on Alex Galchenyuk

Bob McKenzie is not one to be ignored when it comes to rumblings, and the TSN Insider said that the Montreal Canadiens are “listening” to offers for restricted free agent Alex Galchenyuk.

Now, this by no means does it mean that Alex Galchenyuk will be traded, but this wouldn’t be the first we’ve heard of Galchenyuk being in trade talks and McKenzie goes on to give more details.

Now if Marc Bergevin is intent on getting a centre, and doesn’t view Galchenyuk as that centre, it makes you wonder what kind of player he is looking for.

This offseason was already going to be very interesting and with the expansion draft looming, and Galchenyuk and Nathan Beaulieu both reportedly coveted, it should make for a very interesting off-season as the Canadiens prepare for next season.

The Canadiens need to submit their expansion draft list by the end of the week, and the lists become public on Sunday.

There is a league-wide trade freeze (except trades with Vegas) starting Saturday afternoon.
