It appears as though Alexander Radulov may be distancing himself from the Montreal Canadiens. His current asking price is higher than desired to keep the Russian forward according to Pierre LeBrun.
Habs want Radulov back but his current contract demands will have to change otherwise it won’t happen

Last season he scored 18 goals and added 36 assists for 54 points in 76 games, good enough for second on the team in offence. In six playoff games against the Rangers he scored twice and added five assists.
Radulov’s contribution to the team’s offence was critical as there is a very steep drop off in production after team-leading scorer Max Pacioretty and Radulov, and then the rest of the field.
Losing Radulov would have been quite a blow for the Canadiens that they would have a real hard time to replace without having to sacrifice assets in a trade, but the Jonathan Drouin trade may just be enough to help fill the void.
At the conclusion of the season Radulov expressed his desire to stay with the Canadiens, but hockey is a business, so until ink is put to paper anything is possible.
