Surprise new broke on Wednesday that former Habs defenseman Jarred Tinordi tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, which has fuelled speculation that this is what the trade was about.

After the news broke that former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Jarred Tinordi has tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, speculation arose that Marc Bergevin traded him for that reason. Since then, Dave Tippett threw gas on the fire saying that this was an 'ongoing situation in Montreal', where the test was done. Tinordi has denied prior knowledge of taking the PEDs, saying it was an accident, but this is a bit of a firestorm.
