The PWHL has announced that Montreal Victoire forward Catherine Dubois was suspended one game for her hit on Boston Fleet defender Megan Keller.

Dubois was assessed a major and game misconduct for illegal check to the head on Monday, and will now miss Sunday’s rematch in Seattle.

It is the first suspension for Dubois, and the first suspension for any Montreal PWHL player and the third suspension this season in the PWHL.

Dubois has played in five games this season, and has one assist. Last season, she had two goals and four assists in 21 games. With her suspension, Dara Greig will have a regular spot on the team’s fourth line, and we may see the season debut for defender Catherine Daoust, who was signed to a contract last week due to Amanda Boulier’s placement on long-term injured reserve.

Dubois will be eligible to return for Montreal’s game against the Toronto Sceptres in Vancouver on January 8.
