The playoff round of the 2018 Memorial Cup begins tonight, and it sees the teams that started things off one week ago in a showdown for a spot in the final.

That first round-robin game went in favour of the host Regina Pats, as they scored the go-ahead goal with less than one minute remaining to take the win in their first competitive game in over six weeks. The Pats’ victory helped set up a key matchup with the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night; a wild game that the Pats won by a 6-5 score to eliminate their WHL foes.

Hamilton responded to the opening-night loss by winning their next two games with incredible performances on the ice, posting a combined 90 shots over the two games to secure a spot in the playoffs.

With the Acadie-Bathurst Titan winning the preliminary round of the event, the Pats and Bulldogs now play to determine which club will join them on Sunday for the final. Montreal Canadiens prospects Cale Fleury of the Pats and Will Bitten of the Bulldogs will face off to see who will battle for the most difficult trophy to win in North American sports.
